IBM MaaS360 Foundations
IBM MaaS360 Foundations Courses:
Android Enterprise, a Google-led initiative, enables the use of Android devices and apps in the workplace. IBM Security MaaS360 integrates with Android Enterprise to provide a unified endpoint management experience. Currently, MaaS360 supports three management varieties provided with Android Enterprise; Profile Owner (PO), Device Owner (DO), and Corporate Owned Single Use (COSU).
PO assigns a work profile in which work apps and data are stored in a separate, self-contained space within a device. This scenario supports personally owned devices (BYOD).
In this lab, you configure MaaS360 with Android Enterprise. You learn how to enable Android Enterprise using a managed Google Play account and deploy a Work Profile (PO) to manage BYOD for personally enabled and personally owned devices. This process includes the following tasks:
- Configure Android Enterprise to manage personal devices
- Initiate a trial with MaaS360
- Adjust the deployment settings to ensure proper enrollment is met
- Learn about application distribution and settings associated with these distributions
- Create a Work Profile that separates business applications from apps in a personal profile
- Configure the WorkPlace Persona policy for Secure Mail
- Review device enrollment options and send an enrollment request
- Remove the Work Profile from the device
Learn how to prepare Microsoft Active
Directory Federation Services (ADFS) to be used as the Identity
provider for the federated SAML authentication of devices and portal
administrators in MaaS360. You configure both ADFS and MaaS360 to use Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) and then
test portal administrator and device enrollments using this
authentication. Microsoft ADFS is used as the Identity Provider in this
lab but any Identity Provider that supports SAML 2.0 can be used to
achieve federated single-sign on in MaaS360.
In this lab session, you learn how to use the
MaaS360 portal workflows to support a mobile enterprise. As a help desk administrator you might have
access to all MaaS360 workflows or a subset of workflows based on your access
roles. In the lab, you learn how to set up and use key configurations such as security
policies, compliance rules, enrollment requests, and device groups. You use
workflows such as apps and docs to push content to devices, and then use device
inventory and actions to manage devices.
In order to understand how users enroll and use the MaaS360 app on
devices, you enroll an Android device in MaaS360.

In this lab, you learn how to configure MaaS360 to integrate with Google Accounts Enterprise to enable and manage Android Enterprise bring your own device (BYOD) programs in MaaS360. You configure the service and deployment settings in the MaaS360 portal, review Android Enterprise policy configurations and approve Google work apps to be distributed through MaaS360. You also generate an enrollment request for Android Enterprise devices, enroll in MaaS360, and activate Android Enterprise BYOD on a device.
IBM MaaS360 is a comprehensive mobile management and security solution for devices, applications, and content. In this comprehensive course, you learn how to create and configure a MaaS360 portal account. You learn to use portal workflows to configure and customize the account. You also use policies and compliance rules to manage your mobile enterprise.
Objectives
- Configure MaaS360 account services and settings
- Explain and configure security policies
- Explain and configure compliance rules
In this lab, you practice creating a MaaS360 portal and the fundamental administrative tasks necessary to configure the portal. These tasks include setting up MaaS360 services, settings, portal security, departments, locations, privacy settings, and custom attributes. You will create and test users, user groups, policies, and compliance rules. You also deploy MaaS360 on mobile devices and then verify that the appropriate policy is deployed to the device and that the device is in compliance.
IBM MaaS360 is a comprehensive mobile management and security solution
for devices, applications, and content. This module explains MaaS360
product capabilities, architecture, and integration points. You learn
how to scope, plan, and evaluate deployment strategies for your
enterprise mobility implementation.
In this lab, you learn how to use IBM MaaS360 to enroll and manage Android or iOS devices. Then you use the Android or iOS device to enroll and install the MaaS360 app on the device.
In this module, you learn the MaaS360 Productivity Suite features that you can use to protect your organization’s corporate content on mobile devices. You learn how to configure services and security settings in the MaaS360 portal with a focus on the WorkPlace Persona policy. You also learn how to build a Content Library and distribute content to devices.
