Setup Guides

Setup guides will get admins up and running with some of the most popular EMM features available today, including Apples Device Enrollment Program (DEP) and Android Enterprise.

Android Enterprise

Android offers device management through embedded enterprise tools sets.  The Android enterprise features differ from legacy device admin style MDM in that it is a unified management feature, capable of securing all Android devices, regardless of OEM.  The setup process creates a bind between MaaS360 and Android services, so that devices can be uniformly configured, secured, and enterprise enabled.  The following will cover initial setup, enrollment, and app distribution.

Setup Instructions:

There are 2 methods to setup AfW within MaaS360, each with their own benefits, and limitations

Enable Via Google Accounts (Needs Google Admin Account)

Enable Via Accounts Enterprise (Needs Basic Gmail Account)

Enrollment Instructions

The enrollment process could go one of two ways depending on the device needs.  The end users will most likely be using the basic enrollment which creates a dual persona on the device (personal/work profiles).  For more advanced features, the admins may enable what is called Device Owner mode, in which the entire device is the work profile.

Enabling Device Owner Mode

Device Owner mode allows admins to enroll devices that do not contain a personal profile, the entire device is the work profile.  This is for Corporate Owned assets as opposed to BYOD or personally enabled devices.

Application Management

Application management with Android for Work takes place in 2 different places.  The first step is the Play Store for Work, and once configured, the rest takes place through the MaaS360 portal.
